Kitchen Remodel
When the owners purchased this home, located in the The Highlands of Arroyo Grande, it was dated and in need of an extreme make-over. The most extensive area renovated was the kitchen; walls were taken down and the existing family room was sacrificed to nearly double the size of the kitchen. A huge fireplace that was situated in the existing family room was removed, making room for more additional countertop space, a bar sink and the gas range. Carrara marble reins supreme in the kitchen as well as many other areas of the home.
Globe pendants and open shelving which display the owner’s ceramic collection give the room an eclectic feel. Polished chrome hardware and a Carrara marble herringbone backsplash add contrast to the custom white cabinetry throughout the kitchen. However, the kitchen’s real star is a semi-professional cobalt blue 48” BlueStar Gas Range with (4) burners, a grill, griddle and convection oven make it a pleasure to cook. The owners are both passionate home chefs who love to host intimate dinner parties for family and friends on a weekly basis.
The banquette
A custom built-in banquette has become the clients best seat in the house where they enjoy their morning coffee, taking in the beautiful morning sun that floods the kitchen thanks to an expanse of windows around the perimeter of the kitchen. The banquette also doubles as linen storage with built in nooks below.
